I started playing around with this idea of connecting together pieces of tin with thin tabs. These first few are of oddly shaped boxes that remind me of buildings.

I made a series of brooches, and then realized these were structural enough to use as earrings. This is the first in the earring series and feature a gorgeous turquoise that was spray painted over a red tin. I didn’t realize it til I got it home, but I love how it distresses to a beautiful matte color with dark undertones.

Each piece is hand cut, filed, finished smooth and then assembled. They are finished with a minimalist hand made surgical stainless steel ear wires. The finished earrings are approximately 1.25” (30mm) wide and hang about 3” (72mm).

I’m using up tiny scraps of tin so each pin is completely unique. If you see one you like, snag them now.
